Phillip Hogg was appointed to Georgetown First UMC in June 2020. He and his wife, Janet, have 3 adult sons and 4 grandchildren: Phillip (Jenny, Nathan, Jaden), Christopher (Sarah, Sadie, Bennett) and Andrew (Kristen). Two of their sons live in the Lexington area.
Phil enjoys playing music, woodworking and golf. He’s a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and UK sports (Go Big Blue!).
Prior to Georgetown First UMC, he served at Asbury United Methodist in Highland Heights, KY for 9 years. He served in the campus ministry at Morehead State University for 17 years and in the local church for 18 years.
Jeremy Arnold became the Associate Pastor at Georgetown First in July 2018. He is a graduate of both Asbury College and Asbury Theological Seminary. He is passionate about encouraging people to think deeply about their beliefs and loves Preaching and Teaching scripture. In his free time Jeremy likes to watch basketball, and spend time with his family.
Jeremy’s wife, Michelle, is a small animal veterinarian. She loves to read and ride her horse. They have two children. Naomi loves to dance in the aisles during worship, pretend she is a horse, or act out Disney princess movies. Oliver likes to eat and sleep.
Shannon Shepherd is the receptionist at Georgetown First.
Shannon and her husband share four wonderful children together: Jackson (19), James (17), and Lexie and Riley (both 13).
Shannon enjoys getting to know more church members, and hopefully being a blessing to others as well.
Denise Pitts is the administrative assistant at Georgetown First. She enjoys getting to know more church members, and helping staff so that they can better serve the congregation.
Denise was born and raised in Cunningham, a small town in far western Kentucky and graduated from Murray State University. She and her husband, David, moved to Georgetown in 1997, with their two boys: JB and Will. She is a CPA and retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 2017.
Denise enjoys reading and traveling, but her favorite place is home.
Denise’s favorite Bible verse is from Philippians 4:13- “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (ISV)
Howard Miles is the business manager at Georgetown First.
In his free time, Howard enjoys spending time with his wife, Teresa, and their granddaughter, Layna. Howard also enjoys being outside as much as possible.
Howard loves serving our Lord, and helping His people. He truly brings this passion to his work at Georgetown First, and in his interactions with others.
Marcus Price II serves as Youth Minister at Georgetown First. He is a graduate of Georgetown College, where he studied both Religion and Philosophy.
Marcus’s wife, Haley Faye , also graduated from Georgetown College and is currently studying at the University of Kentucky to become a family counselor.
His core belief is in sharing the love of God through meaningful relationships.
Director of Music Ministries, Sara Hall, has been on staff at Georgetown First since 2006.
Sara is the widow of the Reverend Doctor Larry B. Hall, who was a United Methodist minister, and has two children and two grandchildren. Her hobbies in addition to singing and playing piano include reading, and cross stitch needlework.
Sara has spent her entire life being involved in some way with church music ministry. She is committed to serving God through music, and she views her talent as God’s gift to her so she may share with others.
Dr. Rachel Taylor serves as the pianist, organist, and accompanist at Georgetown First United Methodist Church. Rachel is the daughter of Edna Taylor, a lifelong church musician and public school music teacher.
Rachel lives in Georgetown with her husband, Mark Cleland, and their son, Taylor Crist Cleland.
Rachel enjoys traveling with her family, taking walks and interacting with her students.
Paige Willhite serves as Director of the Preschool/Kindergarten programs at Georgetown First.
Paige is a Georgetown native, and was born and raised in Georgetown First United Methodist Church. She and her husband, Chris, have three sons who all attended the preschool and kindergarten when they were younger.
Paige taught 3-year-old and 4-year-old classes from 2009 until July 2018, when she became the Director of the Preschool/Kindergarten programs. She is passionate about early childhood development and helping our youngest children learn skills to help them be successful as they begin their education. She feels it is truly a joy seeing our children grow, both physically and spiritually.
Kristina Skibo serves as Children’s Minister for Georgetown First United Methodist Church.
Kristina and her husband, have 2 children who are currently in Scott County High School. They were a military family for 20 years and have lived in several different states, including California, Texas, North Carolina and Kentucky.
Kristina’s music education at The University of Kentucky lead her to work with children in private voice lessons and theatre groups in Georgetown, KY. She served as the director of the Christmas play at Georgetown First, developing a passion for working with children and sharing Gods love with them. She combines her experience with music and love for children into this ministry.

Jacob Broyles was born and raised in Georgetown and graduated from Scott County High School. He is working on a degree in history and teaching at UK.
Karlee Roark lived in Georgetown her whole life but recently moved to Paris with her daughter. Her daughter is the best thing that’s ever happened to her and is her best friend.
Meet our Nursery Attendants
Lori Baker is originally from Danville, Kentucky where she grew up attending Centenary United Methodist Church. She has been attending Georgetown First since the fall of 2007. She and her husband have two children. She is the Production Manager for the Georgetown News-Graphic. She enjoys being around children and feels blessed to have the opportunity to care for some of the youngest members of our church.
Kelley Marie Young is a mother to her very own toddler, who is full of adventure and teaches her something new every day. She was baptized and confirmed as a child at Hillsboro United Methodist. She moved with her mom to Kentucky in 2001 and has lived in Georgetown since the spring of 2016. She has two associate degrees from Somerset Community College in Applied Science and Arts Business Transfer. She has worked for Lowes full time as a product service associate for 5 years. Kelley enjoys working with our youngest members and their families in the nursery.
